Graduates across Asia who dream of studying in Beijing now have a fully funded route open. The Yenching Academy Scholarship 2027 at Peking University is accepting applications for its master’s in China Studies, and every admitted scholar receives the Yenching Fellowship.
The fellowship covers full tuition, accommodation in the Yenching Academy House, one round trip travel fare between your home city and Beijing, basic medical insurance, a monthly stipend, and expenses related to field study and research. Around 120 scholars are enrolled each year, and about 75 percent of them are international students, so you would study and live alongside peers from all over the world.
Who can apply? You need a bachelor’s degree in any field, or you must be on track to graduate by August 2027. The Academy looks for a strong academic record, a real interest in the interdisciplinary study of China, and evidence of leadership and community engagement. English requirements are IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL iBT 100, with exemptions for native English speakers and graduates of English taught programmes.
Your application includes a personal statement, a statement of research interest, a CV, official transcripts, your diploma or certificate of enrollment, and two academic recommendation letters.
The deadline is firm: applications for the 2027 cohort close on 30 November 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Beijing time. Recommendation letters and test scores take time to arrange, so start now rather than in the final week.
