Eric Bleumink Fellowship 2027: Fully Funded Master’s at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands

A fully funded master’s in the Netherlands is open to talented graduates around the world, and the key date is coming up fast.

The Eric Bleumink Fellowship at the University of Groningen covers the full cost of a master’s degree: tuition fees, international travel, subsistence (living costs), books and health insurance. The grant is awarded for one year or two year master’s programmes (MSc, MA and LL.M.) starting in September, across all fields offered by the university.

Who can be considered? You must hold the nationality of a country on the fellowship’s official list, which includes Liberia, Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, along with many other countries in Africa, Asia and beyond. You need excellent grades in your bachelor’s studies, excellent English for your chosen programme, and no other means of financing your studies. You must also receive a provisional or unconditional admission offer for a master’s programme before February.

There is no separate scholarship application. The University’s Admission Office, working with the faculty admission boards, nominates candidates from admitted students. To allow enough processing time, your master’s application should be completed before 1 December 2026, for entry in September 2027.

If you have a strong bachelor’s record and a clear master’s goal, this is the moment to act. Programmes fill their admission rounds early, and only admitted students can be nominated, so start your master’s application now rather than waiting for the deadline.
