Swedish Institute Scholarship 2027: Fully Funded Master’s in Sweden for Global Professionals

Sweden will fully fund your master’s, tuition, living costs and your flight, if you have the work experience and leadership record to match.

The Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals is one of the most generous master’s scholarships in Europe. For the 2027 intake it pays your full tuition fees directly to your Swedish university, gives you a monthly allowance of SEK 12,000 throughout your study period, and adds a one time travel grant of SEK 15,000 (SEK 10,000 for scholars from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine). Scholars also join the SI Network for Global Professionals and, after graduation, the Sweden Alumni Network.

The scholarship supports full time one or two year master’s programmes in four fields: Governance, Public Health, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and STEM. Citizens of 34 countries are eligible, including Liberia, Nigeria, Kenya, Senegal, South Africa, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Egypt, Morocco, Rwanda, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia and Uzbekistan.

To qualify, you must apply for an SI eligible master’s programme, be liable to pay tuition fees in Sweden, and show real work experience plus leadership experience from employment, entrepreneurship or civil society. Most applicants, including those from Liberia and Nigeria, need at least 3,000 hours of work experience before February 2027.

The timeline matters. Master’s applications through University Admissions opened on 16 October 2026 and close on 15 January 2027. The list of eligible programmes is published on 13 November 2026. The SI scholarship portal itself opens from 8 to 24 February 2027 and closes at 14:59 CET on the final day. Results follow in April 2027, and studies begin in autumn 2027.
